Press-fitting of solid tires

Generally, solid tires need to be press-fitted, that is, the tire and rim or steel core are pressed together by a press before they can be loaded into vehicles or used in equipment (except for bonded solid tires). Regardless of the pneumatic solid tire or the press-fit solid tire, they are interference fit with the rim or steel core, and the inner diameter of the tire is slightly smaller than the diameter of the rim or steel core, so that when the tire is pressed into the rim or steel core Generate a tight grip, make them fit together tightly, and ensure that the tires and rims or steel cores will not slip when the vehicle equipment is in use.

Normally, there are two types of pneumatic solid tire rims, which are split rims and flat rims. The press-fitting of split rims is a little complicated. Positioning columns are needed to accurately position the bolt holes of the two rims. After the press-fitting is completed, the two rims need to be fixed together with fastening bolts. The torque of each bolt and nut is used to ensure that they are evenly stressed. The advantage is that the production process of the split rim is simple and the price is cheap. There are one-piece and multi-piece types of flat-bottomed rims. For example, the quick-loading tires of Linde forklifts use one-piece. Other rims with solid tires are mostly two-piece and three-piece, and occasionally four-piece and five-piece type,The flat-bottomed rim is easy and quick to install, and the driving stability and safety of the tire are better than that of the split rim. The disadvantage is that the price is higher. When installing pneumatic solid tires, make sure that the rim specifications are consistent with the calibrated rim specifications of the tire, because solid tires of the same specification have rims of different widths, for example: 12.00-20 solid tires, the commonly used rims are 8.00, 8.50 and 10.00 inch width. If the rim width is wrong, there will be problems of not pressing in or locking tightly, and even causing damage to the tire or rim.

Similarly, before press-fitting solid tires, it is necessary to check whether the size of the hub and the tire is correct, otherwise it will cause the steel ring to burst, and the hub and the press will be damaged.

Therefore, solid tire press-fitting personnel must undergo professional training and strictly follow the operating procedures during press-fitting to avoid equipment and personal accidents.
